Berserk Anime Movie Title Confirmed

The other day, we reported that the medieval manga and anime Berserk will be getting its first feature film. And finally, after hours of waiting, the full title of the movie has been confirmed! To be entitled Berserk Golden Age Arc I: Egg of the Supreme Ruler (Berserk Ōgon Jidai-Hen I: Haō no Tamago), the film will open on Japanese theaters January 2012. STUDIO4℃ confirmed that director Toshiyuki Kubooka and staff are hard at work on the film and more production updates will be given up to the film’s release. The official website for the film is said to open on July 15th while the film’s official twitter account, named after “Clara de Porras”, a fictional Midland Kingdom’s Public Relations Office, was opened to keep fans updated. In addition, Good Smile Company will make a figure which will be unveiled at this summer’s Wonder Festival, most likely either a figma or a Nendoroid figure. Berserk’s setting is inspired by medieval Europe. It centers around the life of Guts, an orphaned mercenary warrior, and Griffith, the leader of a mercenary band called the Band of the Hawk. As he ages, Guts changes from a solitary boy into a man who realizes the value of camaraderie.
